Benson Woman Wins $1 Million Powerball Prize on Eve of 58th Birthday

One lucky winner from Benson won a jackpot, which made her the happiest person. 

Leslie Husted, a resident of Benson, has won a $1 million Powerball prize the day before she turned 58, according to a news release from the NC Education Lottery.

While sitting in her living room, Husted heard about an unclaimed $1 million Powerball ticket in her town and had a feeling that it could be her ticket.

After checking her ticket purchased from Murphy Express on N.C. 42 West in Garner, Husted discovered that she had matched the numbers on all five white balls in the drawing.

She called her husband and started screaming with excitement. Her birthday will certainly be unforgettable this year.
