B.C. woman wins $1M Lotto 6/49 guaranteed prize with family birthdays

Gloria Krivicich of Port Alberni, B.C. never expected to win big when she bought a Lotto 6/49 ticket on a whim. 

The winning ticket was sold at the Smoke Stack on Third Avenue in Port Alberni. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $10,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket. 

But to her surprise, her numbers matched the guaranteed prize of $1 million in the Sept. 21, 2022 draw.

Krivicich, who has lived in B.C. for over 50 years and enjoys reading and gardening, was shocked and overjoyed by her win. She credits her family for helping make her lottery dreams come true, as she picked her own numbers based on family members' birthdays.

Now, Krivicich plans to use her winnings to visit family in Croatia and fulfill her dream of traveling. Her story is a reminder that sometimes, luck can come from the most unexpected places and can help make dreams come true.
