Auburn Cumberland Farms Sells $500,000 Winning Lottery Ticket

A lucky Massachusetts scratch-off ticket has delivered a $500,000 top prize to a Worcester-based trust.

The winning ticket came from the Massachusetts State Lottery’s "$500,000 Frenzy" instant game. Jo's Dime Trust of Worcester officially claimed the prize, with trustee Katherine Wally representing the trust.

The ticket was purchased at Cumberland Farms, located at 502 Washington St. in Auburn. The trust selected a one-time payment of $500,000 before taxes.

Lottery officials also shared some exciting news for other players:

• This was the 22nd $500,000 top prize claimed in the "$500,000 Frenzy" game.

• As of the October 29 announcement, 28 more $500,000 prizes were still waiting to be claimed.

With more top prizes remaining, players still have a chance to land a major win.
