Arrest Made in Alleged $3 Million Mega Millions Ticket Theft Case

Authorities have apprehended 23-year-old Carly Nunes, a liquor store clerk, after a two-week manhunt in connection with an alleged plot to steal a winning $3 million Mega Millions ticket and cash it in at Massachusetts Lottery Headquarters

. Nunes had been on the run since missing her court appearance on June 14, facing charges including larceny, attempted larceny, presentation of a false claim, and witness intimidation, according to the Plymouth District Attorney's Office.

Nunes is now in custody and is set to appear in Brockton District Court.

The incident took place on January 17, 2023, at Savas Liquors in Lakeville.

The victim purchased lottery tickets, including a Mega Millions ticket with a multiplier.
