An Austin guy scoops $34 million recently in a lottery game

An Austin resident is now millions of dollars richer after a lottery drawing. The anonymous resident purchased their lucky Quick Pick ticket at the Far West H-E-B, located at 7025 Village Center Drive.

The winner chose to receive the cash value of approximately $20 million, not including taxes. On Jan. 29, the Texas Lottery said the jackpot has now been claimed.

In order to win the jackpot, Lotto Texas ticketholders must match all six numbers to the ticket drawn, with results announced at 10:12 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

The Texas Lottery offers eight different draw games, including the Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto Texas and more. Scratch tickets, including Cash Blast, Crossword and Gold Rush, are also available.

In December, an Austinite won $3 million playing the scratch game $750 Million Winner Circle. Later the same month, a $2 million Powerball ticket was sold in northwest Austin.
