Alpena County woman wins $6 million jackpot on Michigan Lottery ticket

An anonymous woman from Alpena County, Michigan, is celebrating after winning a $6 million jackpot on the Michigan Lottery's $6,000,000 Jackpot instant game.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Perch's IGA Foodstore on US Highway 23 North in Alpena. 

She scanned the barcode on the new ticket at the store and received a message to file a claim at the Lottery office.

Curious about her potential winnings, she scratched the ticket and was stunned to see the $6 million prize.

The winner took the ticket home and had her husband double-check the ticket before telling their family and friends about the exciting news.

The winner claimed her prize at Lottery headquarters in Lansing and opted to receive the money as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $4.1 million, rather than receiving the annuity.
