Alberta Lotto 6/49 winner misreads email and almost misses $1 million prize
In a stroke of luck, Juanita Reber from Bezanson, Alberta became a millionaire after winning the Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball draw.
However, her excitement was initially short-lived as she misread the email and thought she had only won $1,000. It was her husband who pointed out the mistake and correctly identified that they had won $1 million.
Reber plans to use some of her winnings to pay bills and buy gifts for her family, including a new van for her son and a pontoon boat for her husband.
Other lucky winners from Alberta include a man from Fort McMurray who won $100,000 and another Daily Grand winner who became a millionaire after winning $7 million.
