A woman scratch off lottery player wins a big jackpot recently

A woman from Miami-Dade County is $1 million richer after winning big on the "Billion Dollar Gold Rush Supreme" scratch-off game.

The Florida Lottery announced Maureen Watson-Richards, 69, of North Miami Beach, claimed her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $880,000.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Publix on 1700 Northeast Miami Gardens Drive. The store will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the ticket.

The "Billion Dollar Gold Rush Supreme" game features a top prize of $15 million, with overall odds of winning being 1-in-2.59.

The winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming their winning prize money, lottery officials said.
