A woman from Carrboro wins $1 million recently in Cash lottery game

A Carrboro woman took a chance on a $10 scratch-off ticket and won a $1 million prize. Susana Brache bought her lucky 50X The Cash ticket from the Short Stop on West Main Street in Carrboro.

Brache arrived at lottery headquarters Monday and chose to receive the lump sum of $600,000. After required state and federal taxes, she took home $427,503.

The 50X The Cash game debuted in February with six top prizes of $1 million. Since Brache won the last top prize, the lottery will begin the process of ending the game.

The winning ticket has sparked a wave of excitement and speculation within the community, as neighbors and friends eagerly try to uncover the identity of the fortunate winner.

The unexpected windfall promises to be life-changing for the lucky resident, who can now look forward to a brighter and more prosperous future.
