A man wins $1 million after buying a ticket at his lunch time
A Greenville man beat the odds to win the top prize in the $1,000,000 Money Maker scratch-off lottery game.
The winning ticket worth $1 million was purchased at Stop-A-Minit on Pelham Road. The lucky winner said he went on his lunch break to buy Powerball tickets. Later, he released he didn’t have his play slips and went back to the store to get them.
He decided to buy a couple of scratch-off tickets while he was there. “I won $20 and $1 million on them,” he said. “I was in shock.
If the clerk had given me my slips, I wouldn’t have had a reason to go back.”
The winner said he plans to save the money for retirement. Stop-A-Minit #15 received a $10,000 commission for the ticket.
