A man from Quebec wins $30 million recently in a lottery game
A resident of Quebec, Canada, identified only by the initials A.G., recently became one of the luckiest lottery winners in the world when he cashed in a winning lottery ticket worth a whopping $30 million.
This single ticket matched all seven main numbers of the Lotto Max draw on July 31, giving A.G. the biggest lottery prize ever won by a single ticket sold in the province.
Previously, the largest-ever win in Quebec was around $27 million, which was shared between two ticket holders.
The most amount ever won in the country with a single ticket is currently $60 million, won in 2013. A.G. could potentially take home more than $30 million after taxes if he decides to take the lump sum, which is the preferred prize option du jour.
Representatives from Lotto Max said they were thrilled with the win. The multimillion-dollar payday, however, will likely remain a mystery.
Lotto Max officials won't be able to identify the winner in either case since the province maintains the anonymity of lottery winners.
