A lucky scratch off lottery player from Bradenton wins $5 million recently

The Florida Lottery has announced that a Bradenton man won one of its top prizes of $5 million.

The Florida Lottery announced Corday Hamilton, 31, as the winner with the odds of 1-in-2.363 million. Hamilton claimed the prize from the $20 Gold Rush Limited scratch-off game and opted to receive his winnings in a one-time payment of $3.96 million.

He purchased the ticket from Publix at 501 N. Beneva Road in Sarasota. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The game features 32 top prizes of $5 million and 100 prizes of $1 million, and there here are 33,000 smaller prizes of $1,000 to $100,000 with an overall odds of winning of 1-in-2.65.

Scratch-off games have made up 77% of Florida Lottery ticket sales in the 2021-2022 fiscal year and have generated more than $17.69 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund, according to the Florida Lottery.
