A howard county guy celebrates $10 million lottery win recently
Howard County resident, Joe Smith, celebrated a life-changing lottery win of $10 million on Wednesday.
The win was revealed during a special check presentation ceremony held at the Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
Smith told reporters that he had to double-check the ticket numbers three times before he believed it was real. "I was in shock," Smith said.
"It was a moment I'll never forget." The winning ticket was purchased at a Columbia grocery store. Smith said he plans to use the winnings to buy a new house and travel the world.
He also plans to donate a portion of the winnings to a charity close to his heart. "I'm still in disbelief," he said. "I'm so thankful for this incredible opportunity."
The Maryland Lottery congratulated Smith on his win and wished him the best of luck in the future.
"We are thrilled that Mr. Smith's dreams have come true," a representative said. "It's always exciting to see one of our players win the lottery."
