A fortunate Howard county nurse wins $100,000 recently in scratch off lottery
An Elkridge nurse has won a $100,000 top prize on a scratch-off ticket. The anonymous winner, who used the nickname Meks to share her story with the Maryland Lotto, claimed her prize Nov. 7.
The nurse bought her $30 scratch-off at the Rainbow Gas Station and Convenience Store in Hyattsville where she stopped to fill up her car with gas and buy her weekly supply of lottery games.
She told the Maryland Lotto that she usually buys multiple scratch-off tickets when she stops to buy gas. “I always seem to win even if it’s not much but the most I’ve won was $5,000," Meks said.
“$100,000 in my hands is something I could have never imagined, even though I play so often.” The Howard County mom said she plans to set aside funds for herself and to invest some of the winnings to help her kids in the future.
Rainbow Gas Station and Convenience Store at 5801 Riggs Road in Hyattsville received a $1,000 bonus from the lottery for selling a $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.
