A fortunate Brooklyn guy wins $50,000 in powerball lottery game

One lucky person in New York City is a little richer after buying a prize-winning Powerball ticket, according to lottery officials.

The winning ticket worth $50,000 was sold at Fine Fare Supermarket at 1498 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn. The ticket matched four numbers and the Powerball number.

The winning numbers were 8, 44, 45, 51, and 69 and the Powerball was 12. There were no first-prize Jackpot-winning tickets, according to the New York Lottery.

The next Powerball drawing is on Saturday. The estimated jackpot is $206 million with a $95.7 million cash option.

Another $50,000 prize-winning Powerball ticket was sold in Brooklyn for the drawing on Monday.

The ticket was sold at a BP gas station in the Flatlands neighborhood of Brooklyn.
