A big winning Powerball lottery ticket is sold out in Texas recently

A lucky winner from Texas has claimed the massive $564.1 million Powerball jackpot after the winning ticket was purchased at a store in the city of Lufkin.

The winning ticket was purchased at a Brookshire Brothers store, and the winner chose the cash option, which is worth $381 million before taxes.

The winner has chosen to remain anonymous, but lottery officials released a statement saying they are thrilled to have a winner from Texas.

The Powerball jackpot had been rolling since November 4, when the last winning ticket was sold in New Jersey.

This is the second-largest lottery jackpot ever won in the state of Texas, and the ninth-largest lottery jackpot in US history.

The Powerball drawing will continue as normal with the estimated jackpot for the next drawing on Saturday at $40 million.
