A big winning lottery ticket is sold out in Middlebury recently

An area resident is $50,000 richer after purchasing a winning lottery ticket from a Middlebury business this week, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

On Monday, a Naugatuck resident won $50,000 playing a "Fast Play - Big Babkroll" game. The winning ticket was purchased from Dez Mobil in Middlebury.

The CT Lottery furnishes winner information as public record. The Connecticut Lottery only publishes names of people who win $10,000 or more, which officials claim is quite common.

Lottery officials encourage the winner to come forward, validate their ticket, and begin the process of claiming their substantial prize.

As the buzz continues to build, residents in Monroe and Milford join in celebrating the extraordinary stroke of luck that has brought joy to one lucky individual.
