$62,000 worth lottery prize won by Carleton Place man

$62,000 worth lottery prize won by Carleton Place man, in the Pembroke Regional Hospital's Catch the Ace following a challenging year for the lottery.

Wayne Shaver the lucky winner was a little overwhelmed when he found out he needed to come back to Pembroke so that he could claim his winnings, but it also allowed him to figure out what to do with his sudden windfall.

"I am happy to support the hospital,” he said. “I played most weeks and never thought I would win! My wife and I think we will take a vacation somewhere warm to celebrate."

The last 20 weeks of the most recent version of the PRH Catch the Ace lottery has certainly had its unwanted share of misfortune along the way.
