$1 million win for VA Lottery player in New Year's Raffle

A man from Occoquan won $1 million in the Virginia Lottery's New Year's Millionaire Raffle. The man, Daniel Arrow, bought his winning ticket at the Safeway store in Woodbridge's Merchant Plaza.

Zarow was slightly delayed in claiming his prize; he didn't believe he had any real chance of winning.

"Usually we don’t win, so I didn’t bother checking," Zarow told lottery officials when he claimed his oversized check.

When he finally decided to check the numbers, he couldn't believe his eyes.

"I was in disbelief!” Zarow said.

“I asked my wife to check. She was just floored!”
