A woman from Louisiana wins $50,000 in scratch off lottery game

A visitor from New Orleans has struck it lucky in Maryland, winning $50,000 from a scratch-off lottery ticket.

The New Orleans native, an office manager at a roofing company and a devoted lottery player, claimed her prize after purchasing a single 50X The Cash ticket during her visit to Maryland.

“I have family here, so I come to Maryland whenever I can,” the winner shared. She added that she doesn’t typically win big, making this prize particularly special.

The winning ticket was bought from Oakland Mills Liquors in Columbia, MD. The win was only confirmed after she returned to her family’s home, where multiple checks of the ticket revealed its true value.

50X The Cash, part of the X the Cash scratch-off family, was launched in January and offers top prizes of $100,000 and second-tier prizes of $50,000, with several still up for grabs.

There’s also a second-chance promotion with substantial prizes to be won in the coming months.
