A Canton man was shocked to discover that he won $2 million from a scratch-off ticket he recently bought in Mansfield.

Jeremie Gray purchased the $2,000,000 Ultimate Cash ticket at the Meijer gas station on N. Lexington Springmill Road in Mansfield, Ohio Lottery announced on Monday.

Gray told lottery officials that the ticket had been sitting in his truck for a week when he decided to check it after work.

“I just took my phone out and scanned it because I was running a little behind and it said that I won $80,000,” he said. After taking the ticket into the gas station, Gray learned he won much more than that.

It turns out he won the grand prize of $80,000 a year for 25 years. After state and federal taxes, Gray will receive $57,600 yearly.

“There’s no way,” he told lottery officials. “There’s no way. This doesn’t happen.” According to Ohio Lottery, Gray plans to just “live life” after the big win.
