A scratch off lottery player from Florida scoops a big jackpot recently

A 53-year-old resident of Winter Haven is celebrating after claiming a $1 million prize from the SEVEN FIGURES Scratch-Off game from the Florida Lottery.

The winner, Carlos Cole, Sr., opted for a one-time, lump-sum payment of $695,000.00. Cole's journey to fortune began when he purchased his winning ticket from the local Publix at 6031 Cypress Gardens Boulevard in Winter Haven.

The retailer was awarded a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket, according to the Florida Lottery.

The winner has to reach the nearest lottery headquarters for further documentation formalities and for claiming their winning prize money, lottery officials said.

They also announced that the winner has only 180 days from the day of the lottery draw to claim the winning prize money.
