A Severna Park man recently won $100,000 on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off that he bought in Annapolis. The 60-year-old will use the top prize to pay off his debts and retire, the lottery announced last Tuesday.

The father and grandfather has worked for a grocery store chain for more than 40 years. He has worked in and managed departments like produce, billing, and receiving at numerous stores in the chain.

The anonymous man plans to keep his victory a secret from everybody except his wife, who will continue working after he retires. The winner buys Powerball and Mega Millions tickets each week after work.

This time, the man bought a $3 game and a $5 Ravens X5 scratcher. He then went home to relax after his shift.

The $3 scratch-off won him $10, but the Ravens X5 game showed a message directing him to visit a lottery retailer.
