Stunned SC lottery winner asks her dad for second opinion — then wants a third

In South Carolina, a woman won $100,000 in the Lady Jumbo Bucks Crossword game after seeking a second opinion from her husband about the number of words on her scratch-off ticket.

She had already asked her dad to count the words, but wanted to be sure before claiming her prize.

The woman spent $3 on the ticket at a convenience store in Latta, South Carolina, and kept $69,500 after taxes.

This is not the first time a spouse has given a lucky lottery ticket another look, as a South Carolina man recently thought he won $12 before he and his wife realized he was getting much richer.
