Mass. State Lottery winner: $1 million prize claimed from liquor store

A winning Massachusetts State Lottery's “$10,000,000 Bonus Wins” scratch ticket was sold in Marion on the first day of the month.

The winning ticket was sold at Top Of The Hill Liquors in Marion. The store will receive a bonus of $10,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.

Overall, there were 576 winning lottery tickets worth at least $600 sold or claimed in Massachusetts on Wednesday, including 12 in Springfield and 10 in Worcester.

The Massachusetts Lottery was established on September 27, 1971, following the legalization of gambling by the Massachusetts General Court, the legislature of the Commonwealth.

As with most U.S. lotteries, the Bay State's lottery games require players to be at least 18 years old.

Drawings are broadcast on WBZ-TV (channel 4) the CBS-station in the Boston television market.
