Western Australia's Mystery $40 Million Lottery Winner Yet to Come Forward
Despite being announced as Western Australia's newest multi-millionaire with a $40 million Powerball win, the identity of the lucky winner remains a mystery even six days later.
Lotterywest is still eagerly waiting for the winner to come forward and claim their prize.
A spokesperson for Lotterywest urged all players who bought a ticket for the Powerball draw to check their tickets as soon as possible, as the new multi-millionaire could still be unaware of their win.
However, waiting for the winner to claim their prize may take some time, as another WA winner took 22 months to claim their winning ticket sold in April 2020.
The 12-month extension for claiming a division one prize, which was put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, helped the winner to claim their prize just in time.
