Vancouver Island resident claims $55M Lotto Max jackpot after weeks of speculation

A resident of Vancouver Island has finally claimed the $55-million Lotto Max jackpot after weeks of speculation.
The B.C. Lottery Corporation confirmed that the newly-minted multimillionaire will be presented with a cheque during a live event at Elements Casino in View Royal, B.C. on Tuesday.
The community of North Saanich, where the ticket was sold, had been anxiously awaiting the winner's reveal and the identity of the outlet that sold the ticket.
The odds of winning the seven-number jackpot are one in 33,294,800, and retailers that sell winning tickets receive a percentage of the prize total, in this case, $55,000.
