Two lucky scratch off lottery players from Maryland wins millions

Two lottery players in Maryland won big prizes in scratch off games last week, according to lottery officials.

One person won $5 million scratching off the "50 years!" game ticket purchased at Liquor City along Annapolis Road in Lanham.

A man from Bel Air won $2 million playing Cash is King purchased at the Wawa along Belair Road in Bel Air.

In an interview with Maryland Lottery, the winner said he initially tried to buy the ticket earlier in the day but the machine was broken.

“Maybe it’s because I couldn’t get it earlier, but for some reason, I really wanted that Lottery ticket.

I promise you, though, that I had no thought that it would be a winner and certainly not what it turned out to be,” he told Maryland Lottery according to a news release.
