Three Mega Millions Tickets, Including One in Hillsborough, NJ, Win Third-Tier Prizes
Three tickets, including one purchased in Hillsborough, NJ, were winners of the third-tier prize in the April 14 Mega Millions drawing.
The three tickets matched four of the five white balls and the Gold Mega Ball, winning a $10,000 prize each. Two of the tickets were purchased with the Megaplier option, multiplying the prize to $20,000.
The Hillsborough ticket was purchased at Quick Stop Food Stores located at 378 South Branch Rd. The other two tickets were sold at Leprechaun News in Rutherford, Bergen County, and Goldy’s in Bayonne, Hudson County.
In addition to these three tickets, a lucky New York resident won the jackpot prize of $476 million by matching all five white balls and the Gold Mega Ball. The estimated cash value of the prize was $253.1 million.
The winning numbers for the April 14 drawing were 23, 27, 41, 48, and 51, with the Gold Mega Ball being 22 and the Megaplier Multiplier being 02.
The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350, making it a very difficult game to win. However, smaller prizes are also available for matching fewer numbers, as was the case with these three third-tier winners.
