The Mega Millions drawing on Dec. 6 produced no jackpot winners

The Match 5 winner had all the white ball numbers correct but missed the Mega ball. The winning Match 5 ticket, which was sold in Mississippi, won $1 million.

The winning numbers for the Dec. 6 drawing were 15-16-19-28-47 and a Mega ball 13. The "Megaplier" was 3X.

According to Mega Millions, a Megaplier multiplies lower-tier winnings by whatever factor the Megaplier number was, meaning in a $1 million prize could become a $3 million prize with a Megaplier of 3X.

As Mega Million drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.,

The next drawing will be Friday, Dec. 9, with an estimated jackpot of $379 million and a cash option of $202.6 million.

Tickets to play the Mega Million lottery cost $2, and playing the optional Megaplier adds an additional $1.

Players either pick five lottery numbers and one Mega ball number, or have the lottery machine generate an randomised ticket. 

Each time a drawing occurs with no winner, the jackpot increases. Additionally, when more tickets are purchased, the jackpot grows. 

The range of numbers to choose from was expanded to 1 - 70.
