Texas woman won $1 Million Lottery Ticket, Cousin steals It
A lucky woman from Texas won a whopping sum $1 million playing lottery, but her cousin stole her winning amount.
When the winning lotto ticket proved to be a golden ticket, he decided that paying his cousin $50,000 to cash it would be money well-spent.
Realizing that $50,000 was not nearly as much as $1 million, the lottery winner's devious cousin decided to steal the amount.
Rather than deducting her $50,000 and wiring the remaining $487,000, Amador Argueta told her cousin that, despite what he thought he had won, the Texas Hold ‘Em scratch-off ticket was really worth only $20,000.
The victim ultimately received more than $300,000 in winnings from the cousin who stole from her, and Amador Argueta is expected to face between 1.5 and 4 years in prison for her crime.
