Yorjhans Rodriguez Damas, a 45-year-old resident of Tampa, secured a $1 million prize from the Florida Lottery's $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular Game scratch-off game.
Opting for a one-time lump-sum payment, he received $640,000.00 in winnings. Rodriguez Damas purchased the winning ticket at Silver 7 Food Mart on West Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa, earning the retailer a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the fortunate scratch-off.
Launched in February, the $50 scratch-off game boasts two top prizes of $1 million a year for life and 234 prizes of $1 million, offering more than $1.6 billion in total cash prizes.
With overall odds of winning at 1-in-4.50, scratch-off games continue to play a significant role, contributing approximately 72 percent of ticket sales for the Florida Lottery in fiscal year 2022-2023.
