$5M Scratchers Surprise Stuns Northern California

A Northern California man just scored $5 million after scratching a lucky ticket he grabbed on his way home from work. Edy Giron Ruiz of Sebastopol says he had no idea his Valentine’s Day pit stop would turn into a life-changing moment.

Ruiz picked up the Maximum Millions Scratchers ticket at the Husary 76 gas station on North Gravenstein Highway. It wasn’t until months later that he scanned it and saw the breathtaking message.
His reaction: “I couldn’t believe it… it was only happiness.”

He celebrated the win with his brothers and says the best part is finally being able to visit family he hasn’t seen in years.

And the Golden State luck didn’t stop there.
Another winner, Jeong Hwa Seo of Los Angeles, hit a $1 million jackpot on a Triple Red 777 Scratchers ticket bought at a local liquor store.

Highlights:

  • ? $5 million Scratchers win in Sebastopol

  • ? Ticket was actually purchased on Valentine’s Day

  • ? Another $1 million winner in Los Angeles

  • ? Winners plan to use the cash for long-awaited family time
