A 53-year-old Port St. Lucie resident claimed a $1 million prize from the 500X THE CASH lottery scratch-off game, the Florida Lottery announced Thursday.

Darrin Thorpe chose to get his winnings as a one-time payment of $820,

If anybody has a winning ticket, the player must keep it safe and claim the winning prize by visiting the nearest lottery headquarters. The player can also have the facility of calling or seeing mail to start the claiming process.
