Man wins $10 million grand prize playing lottery scratch-off game

One lucky San Pedro resident named Louis Farillas won a whopping sum of $10 million playing California Lottery’s 10 Million Dollar Titanium Black Scratchers game.

The winning ticket was sold at a local convenience store in San Pedro. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $50,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.

Farillas opted to receive an annual check of $400,000 for the next 25 years instead of taking the lump sum.

The California State Lottery offers a range of games including number draws, scratchcards and a mock horse race. The earnings provide supplementary funding for public education.

For each prize of less than $600, players may collect from either a Lottery retailer or the Lottery itself. Prizes of $600 or more must be collected from the Lottery, via claim form.

Almost all prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the draw or the announced end of the game.
