Quebec Man Wins $5 Million Lottery Prize and Plans to Keep Working
What would you do if a lottery ticket suddenly made you a multimillionaire? For Alexandre Patoine, the answer is simple: keep working and take care of the people he loves.
The Quebec man, who is in his 30s, regularly buys a couple of lottery tickets at the end of the workweek. During a recent stop at DépaMax Sainte-Marie in Sainte-Marie, he decided to try a $5 million Extrême scratch ticket, which costs $50.
Patoine scratched the ticket right at the store and couldn't believe what he saw. In the final game, he revealed the number 37 — the number that landed him the $5 million top prize!
He immediately had the ticket validated and remembered hearing the terminal confirm the huge win.
“It sounded good!” Patoine said.
His partner and family were thrilled when he broke the news.
Now a multimillionaire before turning 40, Patoine says he plans to spoil his loved ones with some of his newfound fortune. Surprisingly, retirement isn't on his immediate agenda.
