The winner remains unidentified

Somewhere out there a customer of Pat’s Beverage is $150,000 richer, but might not know it yet.

On Monday, March 18, a customer of the 1423 East High St. shop bought a Powerball Power Play that matched four of the five numbers – 10-17-20-39-44. It also matched the red Powerball 16.

And, without the $1 Powerplay option, the winning ticket would only have been worth $50,000, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania Lottery.

The store earns $500 for selling a winning ticket although “I haven’t seen any money yet,” joked store owner Jagdish Patel.

As it turns out, Pat’s Beverage is a pretty lucky place to buy a lottery ticket.

Patel, who has owned the store for three years, said four other winners in various games have been sold there; two in 2021 and two in 2022.

In fact, including this most recent winner, Pat’s Beverages has sold more than a half million dollars, worth of winning lottery tickets – $527,500 to be exact.

According to the Pennsylvania Lottery, “winners are not known until prizes are claimed and tickets are validated.

Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball® winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

Winning tickets purchased at a Lottery retailer should immediately be signed on the back.”

A fortunate customer of Pat's Beverages on East High Street in Pottstown is now $150,000 richer after purchasing a winning Powerball Power Play ticket last week.

If anybody has a winning ticket, the player must keep it safe and claim the winning prize by visiting the nearest lottery headquarters. The player can also have the facility of calling or sending mail to start the claiming process.
