Powerball Soars to $820M as New Hampshire Buzz Grows
The Powerball hype is officially back. New Hampshire Lottery officials say Saturday’s jackpot is projected to hit a massive $820 million, making it the eighth-largest in Powerball history. If someone grabs it, the one-time cash option would be about $383.5 million before taxes.
What’s wild is that nobody has claimed the big prize since early September, when two lucky players split a jaw-dropping $1.78 billion. Since then, the jackpot has been climbing fast — and so have ticket sales.
Charlie McIntyre, executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery, shared just how big the momentum is, noting last week’s sales alone brought in nearly $1.1 million in Powerball purchases. He added that a big chunk of that money goes right back into supporting public schools.
And yes — he’s very ready to hand someone in the Granite State an $820 million check.
Quick highlights:
-

And the winning didn’t stop there. A lucky player snagged a $100,000 Tri-State Gimme 5 prize through iLottery earlier this week. On December 1, another Powerball player grabbed $150,000 by matching four numbers and boosting the prize with a 3X Power Play.
