The California lottery officials say a Powerball lottery ticket worth $1.8 million was sold in Southern California for Saturday’s Powerball drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at a Shell gas station on Eastlake Parkway in Chula Vista. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $9,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.

The winning numbers from Saturday's drawing were 8-21-31-32-37 and Powerball 23. The winning ticket matched all five numbers drawn.

Powerball is an American lottery game offered by 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Powerball's annuity is paid in 30 graduated installments over 29 years, or winners may choose a lump sum payment instead (cash option).

Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time, at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
