Powerball Jackpot Surges to $255 Million: No Winner in $232 Million Drawing
Wednesday's Powerball jackpot is set to reach an estimated $255 million as Monday's $232 million drawing saw zero players matching all six numbers.
The winning numbers from Monday's draw were 24-33-35-37-42, with a Powerball of 21 and a Power Play of 2x. The jackpot reset after a historic $1.73 billion win in Frazier Park, California, on October 11. This marks the second-largest Powerball jackpot in U.S. lottery history.
Previously, on November 7, a California player clinched the largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history, a staggering $2.04 billion ($997.6 million cash value).
The record for the world's largest jackpot, both in cash value and annuity, was set on January 13, 2016, with a $1.586 billion ($983.5 million cash value) Powerball drawing. Mega Millions games have also witnessed jackpots surpassing $1 billion on five occasions.
As both Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots continue to climb, the anticipation builds for a winning ticket that matches all six numbers drawn in the upcoming games.
