Ontario Sets World Record with Giant Human Foosball Game
Ontario Turns Soccer Fever Into Record-Breaking Human Foosball Event
Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. turned World Cup excitement into something unforgettable by hosting the world’s largest human foosball game.
The massive event took place on May 23 at Humber Polytechnic Lakeshore Campus West in Etobicoke, bringing together a wild total of 254 participants. Each player held onto giant horizontal poles, working as a team to kick a soccer ball toward an oversized goal in a high-energy, real-life version of table foosball.
Officials said the idea perfectly captured what soccer is all about—teamwork, energy, and shared passion. Ontario’s Minister of Sport, Neil Lumsden, highlighted how the attempt brought that spirit to life in a fun and memorable way, especially with the World Cup buzz building.
In the end, the effort paid off. Guinness World Records officially recognized the event as the largest human foosball game ever played, locking Ontario into the record books with a creative twist on the beautiful game.
