Ontario man wins $1,225,254 lotto by choosing numbers with his eyes closed

Robert Farr, a 53-year-old Ontario resident, found himself significantly wealthier after using an unconventional approach to select his lottery numbers. While at a Kwik Mart in Peterborough, Farr decided to close his eyes and randomly choose his numbers with a pencil. To his surprise, this unique method resulted in a life-changing win of $1,225,254.80 in the Jan. 21, 2023, LOTTARIO draw.

Farr visited the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings, expressing his method of selecting numbers and his disbelief upon discovering that he had matched all six numbers (10, 13, 25, 37, 40, 41) in the LOTTARIO draw. The store clerk handed him a long validation slip, leaving Farr in a state of numbness and pure joy.

While Farr enjoys playing various lottery games, LOTTARIO holds a special place as his favorite. The game, launched in 1978 as Ontario's first terminal lotto game, offers players the chance to win by selecting six numbers on their ticket for a $1 fee.

Farr intends to use his newfound wealth to bring about positive change in his community. His plans include assisting family members, contributing to local charities, and making wise investments. Being financially stable brings Farr a sense of happiness and fulfillment.
