A lucky lottery player from Ontario named Vernon Jr Arceno won Lotto 6/49 jackpot worth $100,000 in the December 24, 2022 draw.

The winning ticket was purchased from Metro on Peel Centre Drive. The store will receive a bonus of $1,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.

The winner told lottery officials that he been playing ever since he migrated to Canada, often buying tickets twice a week.

Arceno then stopped at a convenience store to scan his ticket and was surprised that, after playing all these years, he had finally won.

Arceno said he’ll be putting his money towards his mortgage and will be saving the rest of his winnings.

Lotto 6/49 is one of three national lottery games in Canada. Winning numbers are drawn by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation (ILC) every Wednesday and Saturday, executed with a random number generator.
