Oakland County woman won scratch-off ticket worth $300k
LAKE ORION, MI — An Oakland County woman bought a scratch-off ticket in Lake Orion and scratched off a ticket worth $300,000.
The 65-year-old woman, whose name wasn't released, bought a ticket for the Michigan Lottery's "Wild Time Deluxe" instant game at Rick's Party Store on Heights Road, the lottery said in a news release Wednesday.
Lake Orion is about 40 miles north of Detroit.
"I don't play instant games often, but every now and then I like to purchase a Wild Time ticket," the woman told the lottery. "I scratched my ticket when I got home and couldn't believe what I was seeing when I revealed the prize amount of $300,000. I called my husband right away and told him he needed to come home because I had big news to share. We were both so excited!"
She recently claimed her winnings at the lottery headquarters. She said she plans to save the money.
