North Carolina Woman Wins $2 Million on Mega 7's Scratch-Off Ticket Game

A woman from North Carolina has won $2 million on the Mega 7's scratch-off ticket game.

The lucky winner, identified as Betsy Dominguez bought the winning ticket for $20 from the VGO 28 convenience store on North Reilly Road while visiting a friend in Fayetteville.

She started scratching the ticket at her friend's house and was in disbelief when she realized she had won.

"It didn’t really register," she said, according to a news release from the N.C. Education Lottery.

She chose to take a lump sum of $1.2 million instead of receiving $100,000 per year for 20 years and after the required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $854,633.

She plans to use her winnings to pay off her house and bills, and take a vacation.
