The lucky moment occurred when she scratched off a $10 Multiplier Mania ticket purchased at a BP in Newport.
Culpepper's joyful outburst included running into her house, screaming, and dropping to her knees in disbelief.
After sharing the news with family members, she claimed her prize at the North Carolina Education Lottery office, opting for a lump sum of $600,000. After state and federal taxes, Culpepper took home $429,003.
