New York man wins $100,000 lottery prize while visiting Maryland

A lucky man from New York named Prabhjit Singh won a whopping sum of $100,000 playing Maryland Lottery's scratch-off game while visiting his cousin in Maryland.

The winning ticket was sold at the 7-Eleven #20772 store in Woodlawn. The store will receive a bonus of $1,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.

"When I scanned the ticket, it said it was a $100,000 winner," Singh said. "I'm thinking the scanner must be broken, so I gave the ticket to my cousin to scan it."

The winner, who drives a semi truck, said he plans to invest his winnings into his business.

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) is an independent agency of the Maryland government. The MLGCA operates the Maryland Lottery and serves as regulator for Maryland's casino and sports wagering programs and a number of ancillary gaming programs.

The minimum age to buy Maryland Lottery tickets is 18; and casino patrons must be at least 21.
