New Jersey Powerball Player Wins $500,000 as Jackpot Hits $1 Billion
A New Jersey lottery player scored a $500,000 prize Monday, August 10, as the Powerball jackpot continued its climb toward the billion-dollar mark.
The winning ticket matched all five white-ball numbers in the Double Play drawing, which gives players an extra shot at prizes for an additional $1 per ticket. The Double Play top prize is $10 million.

The lucky ticket was purchased online through Jackpocket. The winning Double Play numbers were:
- 04, 23, 31, 32, 57
- Double Play Ball: 23
Meanwhile, no one hit the Powerball jackpot for the 43rd consecutive drawing, pushing Wednesday night's estimated jackpot to a massive $1 billion, with a cash option of approximately $433.1 million.
That makes the prize the eighth-largest Powerball jackpot ever and one of the biggest lottery jackpots in U.S. history.
“Anything can happen in Jersey,” New Jersey Lottery Executive Director James Carey said, encouraging players to play responsibly.
💰 Monday's Powerball Results

🎟️ How Powerball Works
A standard Powerball ticket costs $2. Players choose five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26. A Quick Pick option can also generate random numbers.
Players can add Power Play for $1, which can multiply most non-jackpot prizes. When the jackpot is below $150 million, a special 10X Power Play can also be available.
Powerball drawings take place Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
Ticket cutoff times vary by state. In New Jersey, tickets must be purchased by 9:59 p.m. on drawing nights.

The excitement comes with some staggering odds:

Powerball is available across 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the United Kingdom.
