Multi-million lottery win for Hagerstown woman

A Hagerstown woman who won $2 million through a scratch-off game plans to honor her late father's dream of helping his family if he'd ever won enough money, according to the Maryland Lottery.

The woman, who chose to use the nickname "Happy Dog Groomer," told the lottery she plans to share some of the winnings with her sister and her family members. The Maryland Lottery allows winners to remain anonymous.

A Hagerstown woman who chose to go by the nickname "Happy Dog Groomer," has won $2 million through a Maryland Lottery scratch-off game.

She told the gaming agency a lucky penny she found lying heads up on her front steps played a role in her winning. After winning $100 on another scratch-off ticket, she noticed the heads-up penny and knew it was lucky.

She decided to use her winning instant ticket to buy a $30 Cash is King ticket, according to a lottery news release.
