Mississauga man plans to share his $500,000 lottery win with his family

A lucky man from Mississauga named John McRae won Lotto Max jackpot worth $500,000 for the Jan. 10 Lotto Max draw.

The winning ticket was sold at Longo’s on North Service Road in Mississauga. The ticket distributor will get a bonus of $5,000 for selling the winning scratch-Off ticket.

McRar said he was all prepared for the “Not a winner” message when he checked his ticket at the store.

“Instead, the machine said I was a big winner, and I was speechless,” McRae told OLG.

He plans to share his lottery win with his family, and wants to send his three kids to university and buy a new car.

Lotto Max is a Canadian lottery game coordinated by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation, as one of the country's three national lottery games.

Lotto Max drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday.
